A good knowledge of anatomy takes cornerstone importance in the learning of surgery.

Rwanda Neurosurgical Center in collaboration with the department of Neurosurgery at Lariboisière APHP is planning to conduct a 3 days neuro-anatomy cadaveric course and live endoscopic skull base surgery from 21-23 January 2020. The Event will take place at Rwanda National Forensic Laboratory & Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Kigali (CHUK).

This will be a pilot project proceeding long-term collaboration with IRCAD in the conduct of anatomy laboratory courses and other simulation courses of international participation.

This course being the first of a kind in the region, we are expecting the have participants from all over Africa especially Eastern, Central and Southern countries.

The ultimate objective of such courses is to improve patient’s surgical outcome by obtaining an enhanced and more accurate understanding of human anatomy and established neurosurgical procedures as well as research and development of new neurosurgical approaches using the closest human model possible ; the human cadaver.
